Tip 1 - Bring up a cable modem, router, and computer

The process of bringing up your computer system, cable modem, and router can be critical with some types of components. Following this procedure should provide a dependable system that works consistently.

PROCEDURE:

1. Start with computer, router, and cable modem all turned off - remove power from router and cable modem if necessary.
2. Turn on or apply power to the cable modem. Wait until "Online" light is on solid and "Activity" light is blinking.
3. Turn on or apply power to the router. Wait until "Power", "Wireless-B" lights are on solid.
4. Turn on computer.
5. Login as usual.
